We are proud to show you some creations from The Arts of Healing – Summer Art Series YouTube channel. This channel is designed to bridge Houston physicians and children undergoing cancer treatment. The art is an outlet, a voice, for both the teacher and the student.
Our goal of the art series is to provide curated art lessons and corresponding art kits to each of these young patients, as well as their siblings, during their treatment at the Texas Medical Center. As we release a new art lesson each week during the seasonal art series, the children follow along with a variety of physicians who teach their passion for art.
The moment a child is diagnosed with cancer, the entire family is affected. Within this process, all will face emotional stressors - which we cannot fathom.
The moments of diversion from the harshness of childhood cancer may not be on your radar, and we hope it never is. Unfortunately, however, it's a reality for many, so we hope the art series can help provide a bit of joy to these kids as they face the battle of their lives.
